    THE POSITION:

    The Clinical Trial Nurse is responsible identifying and communicating the impact of the research process on the patient and reporting issues/variances promptly to the research team. This position is primarily responsible for the accurate collection of information from study patients according to protocol specifications.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Providing patient education and medical information to study patients to ensure understanding.
    • Providing accurate and timely data collection, documentation, and entry into trial database.

    EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

    • Perform clinical monitoring activities in conjunction with research team.
    • Documents medical data in patient chart to capture protocol requirements
    • Protect the health, safety, and welfare of study patients
    • Occasional travel to attend sponsor study training meetings as required

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

    • Licensed Registered Nurse of good standing in the state of Missouri
    • 3+ years of relevant clinical nursing
    • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills
    • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications
    • Exhibits an upbeat attitude, a genuine interest in others and a sense of humor. Energizes others and heightens morale through her/his attitude.
    • Possesses the ability to develop and articulate ideas and information that generate understanding and creates a climate that motivates and encourages others to participate

    Qualifications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Clinical Research experience
    • Multi-state RN licensure

     

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    The physical and mental requirements along with the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.

    This is a largely sedentary role. While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit for long period of time (up to 90%). Additionally, they are regularly required to talk or hear, type and engage in repetitive motion, reach and grasp; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is intermittently required to stoop or crouch; push or pull; or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    This role requires mental alertness. The employee must regularly communicate both verbally and written; concentrate on tasks; and remember and observe details. The employee must frequently adjust to changes; handle stress and emotions; and think analytically.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
