    THE POSITION:

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Research Scientist, Real World Evidence, to join our Value and Evidence team. The successful candidate is an exceptional scientist, a problem solver, innovative thinker and thought leader who will lead the design, development and successful execution of health economics and outcomes research and real world evidence studies in collaboration with our clients. The Principal Research Scientist will engage with experts across our organization, optimizing EVERSANA’s value as a strategic partner with our clients. The Principal Research Scientist will also coach junior staff and serve as a mentor and leader within EVERSANA. The ideal candidate has direct and proven experience developing, designing and executing retrospective and prospective observational studies, chart review, survey studies and registries with a commitment to scientific rigor, sponsor engagement and real world evidence generation.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Our people leaders are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

    • Functioning as the expert within the company with regard to health economics and outcomes value and real world evidence helping to position EVERSANA as an industry leader.
    • Collaborating with clients to develop strategic and integrated evidence generation plans
    • Optimally addressing client challenges and current and future evidence needs through leading the design and execution of retrospective claims database analyses, medical chart review studies, registries, and observational studies involving real-world data
    • Conducting rigorous scientific research from concept and design through final report and publication
    • Developing content for research protocols, study reports, abstracts, posters and publications
    • Leading the development of scientific research, ensuring high quality deliverables and completion of studies on time and on budget
    • Presenting study results at scientific and industry conferences
    • Effectively managing vendor and third-party relationships to ensure sponsor satisfaction
    • Recommending EVERSANA services and position research team as subject matter experts
    • Leveraging existing industry relationships to advance business opportunities
    • Fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration with the EVERSANA team, including mentoring of mid- and junior-level staff
    • All other duties as assigned

    • Interview, select and supervise the activities of the department staff; communicate interpret and discuss with team the company policies and procedures.
    • Determine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives discussion appraisal with each employee and performance; authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline and discharge and administer all other personnel actions.

    EXPECTIONS OF THE JOB:

    • Travel (approximately 25-30%)
    • Hours (40 Hours per week, Monday–Friday)

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

    • Education A postgraduate degree- PharmD, MD, PhD in Health Economics, Math, Pharmacy, Epidemiology, Public Health
    • Experience and/or Training (8+ years of relevant industry, consulting and academic experience including a proven track record of high impact
    • Deep understanding of epidemiological study design, observational research, and collaborative registries
    • Demonstrated understanding of Medical Affairs and Health Economics Outcomes Research
    • Proven experience and success in planning, creating, and analyzing real-world data, including utilizing or establishing databases, registries, consortium and institutional and other data sources; and research and statistical methodology for prospective and retrospective studies
    • Knowledgeable and conversant about key issues and trends impacting pharma and device manufacturers in current and future reimbursement environments including RWE policy, payer landscape, HTA, patient centered research with ability to apply appropriate research approach to address key issues.
    • Strategic thinking skills with demonstrated ability to successfully lead the ideation, development of a plan and move to action.
    • Strong ability to analyze, prepare, translate and present relevant summaries of complex materials within the scientific and non-scientific communities.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead project teams
    • A willingness and ability to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency
    • Active publication history and commitment to continue publications
    • Knowledge of ethical and regulatory standards and requirements for real world evidence studies
    • Ability to cultivate and effectively manage relationships within EVERSANA, clients and external stakeholders
    • Proactive, responsive and able to balance shifting priorities and ensuring that promises are kept and expectations are exceeded
    • Exceptional organization, written and verbal communication skills
    • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
    • Experience with programming languages including SAS, R and/or other relevant programming languages
